The middle Five

Alright, I feel comfortable with the first seventeen books. Let's move on to the middle five. They are:

Job - about Job's trial's
Psalms - Praise through Prayer (mostly written by David)
Proverbs - practical wisdom
Ecclesiastes -comes from the Latin form of the Greek word meaning preacher
Song of Solomon - love poem

According to the book I'm using they are experiential. At first I thought it said they were experimental and I couldn't understand that. LOL. But today I realized it said experiential. They are books of experience. They are personal. They are poetical. The first 17 were prose.

What is the difference between prose and poetry you ask? Dictionary.com defines prose as the ordinary form of spoken or written language, without metrical structure, as distinguished from poetry or verse. Poetry is the art of rhythmical composition, written or spoken, for exciting pleasure by beautiful, imaginative, or elevated thoughts. Even the definition seems eloquent.

I'm having trouble figuring out a way to trigger my memory on these 5. So maybe just plain old memorization is best.

Can you recite the 66 Books of the Bible?

I've decided to memorize the Books of the Bible. My daughter has already accomplished this task. Now it is time for my son and I to do the same. Thankfully I already know the first 5. They are called the books of Law or the books of Moses. They are also known as the Pentateuch.

Genesis - the beginning

Exodus - the exit from Egypt

Leviticus - from the Levites (priest?)

Numbers - the children of Israel are twice numbered

Deuteronomy - an explanation of the law (what the Israelites should DO)

Joshua - he took over after Moses

Judges - they took over after Joshua

Ruth - the 1st of only 2 books named after women - she is named in the Messianic line

Now we start with the double books of the Old Testament

I Samuel

II Samuel - he was the last judge and annointed David as King

I Kings

II Kings - David was the first King

I Chronicles

II Chronicles - they chronicle the main events of the Davidic kingdom to the Babylonian time

This is how I memorize things. I try to find something to help trigger what comes next. I have highlighted those triggers in red.

I am by no means a bible scholar and have come up with these with the help of a book. That book is Through the Bible in one year it is written by Dr Alan B Stringfellow.

Long time no see

Yes, it has been a long time. But maybe I'm back. I'm transitioning into a new school routine. We are going to lean more to the Charlotte Mason type of homeschooling. I'm excited about that! We will read more and narrate back more. I've been on the http://www.amblesideonline.org/index2.shtml site several times in the last few days. Check it out. They know what they are doing.

Do you garden?

I really want to garden on a serious level this year. So i'm going to start an Oklahoma gardening blog. You can garden right along with me. I've already attended a seminar in OKC about cool weather vegetables. So I am on my way! Except for the fact that I don't have a spot for a garden. But I'm working on that! It's up and running!!

I finally did it! My dad's website is up and running. I can even search on Google and get it to come up on the first page! Yipeee!!! Did you know that Yahoo! want $300 a year to list a commercial site on their search engine? So if you're ever in the market for Mud Pit Dump Gates go to WWW.dlewismfg.com. Now if we can just generate some orders through there.......

Making progress?

Well, it has been almost a month and not much has changed. We still don't have a site up and running. I still don't know what I'm doing and I'm not making much progress. Maybe that isn't true. I am taking an Internet Learing Enviroment class online. It is taught by Brian Clark and Tony Clark. One of those guys is the founder/owner (whatever you call them) of Copyblogger. I have learned so much from the class! I know there has to be a way to put a link on here or a banner or something.....I'll figure that out later.

My first post

This is my first post. So bear with me.



My family is trying to figure out a stay at home mom job. We want to do some internet marketing, but we are having trouble figuring it all out. To date we have a web site hosting company. That isn't much in the way of a start. The hardest part is trying to decide what to sell. We don't produce our own product so dropshipping will be our means for now. It has been very frustrating so far. It has been very hard to find a dropshipper on our own. As a matter of fact, it has been impossible. So today we subscribed to a dropship company. They state that they will give us the name of 100's of companies that drop ship. Who knows maybe they will.
